The nunchaku is a weapon of uncertain, oriental origin; derived from an agricultural tool, it first becomes a personal defense weapon easily available and used by farmers, then it is used in martial disciplines such as Jeet Kune Do, Kung Fu and Jiu Jitsu.

The nunchaku is characterized by two sticks joined with a rope or a chain (the sticks are called kon, the joining rope himo).
